The Dreamy Ritual of Ceremonial Cacao
Cacao isn’t just chocolate, it’s a plant medicine with a history of bringing people together in ceremony and intention. For me, ceremonial-grade cacao has become part of my self-care rituals, especially when I want to journal deeply or prepare for restful sleep.
What Makes Cacao “Ceremonial”
Ceremonial-grade cacao is pure, minimally processed, and prepared in a way that preserves its natural compounds like theobromine, magnesium, and antioxidants. It’s not the same as your typical hot cocoa, this is cacao in its purest, most potent form.
Why I Drink It:
Journaling Clarity: Whenever I drink cacao before journaling, I notice my thoughts flow more easily and I’m able to connect with my emotions on a deeper level.
Dreamy State for Sleep: Cacao puts me in a relaxed, heart-open mood. I’ll sip it at night and then curl up in bed feeling peaceful.
Magnesium for Relaxation: Cacao is naturally high in magnesium, which can support muscle relaxation and better sleep.
My Favorite Cacao Recipe:
1–2 tablespoons ceremonial-grade cacao
1 cup almond milk (or your favorite milk)
1 teaspoon honey
A pinch of cinnamon
Warm gently (never boil) and whisk until smooth.
Ceremonial cacao is more than a drink, it’s an experience. Whether you use it for meditation, journaling, or winding down before bed, it has a way of inviting you into presence and connection with yourself.
